SunShine Coast - Too much fun…

A couple of weeks ago I headed over to the Sun Shine Coast with Dustan, Trevor and Jess. Dustan was looking to get a bit of a story about the SunShine Coast for the, Jess was looking to get some shots done and Trevor was just along for the ride.

It was an amazing day all around, beautiful from start to finish.

Michael Jordan?

We started out with a ride on Janet’s Jungle which featured lots of debris from the winter storms, but was a fun rip regardless. We ended up at a nice little drop which Jess seemed to enjoy.

We eventually found ourselves on Cunning Stunts, which is a bit of a classic on the SSC. It really is a work of art - countless hours have been spent creating this trail. There is probably less than 10% of the trail on the ground, the rest is built up woodwork, designed to test your skills, balance and patience. There was more than one bail on this trail!

We broke for lunch, and headed into Roberts Creek for our meal, followed up with a quick trip to the beach. This is certainly a place I could get used to.

After lunch we headed to the jumps for Jess to have some fun, and wait for the light to fall back into our favor. This kid has some serious skill and style.

We ended the day with a rip down mach chicken, the Rat Race Down Hill course. It doesn’t really get much better than this to end the day. This is a great trail with great lines.

If you have a chance, definitely head out to the coast for some riding. It’s smooth, comfy and casual. I have yet to find out there that doesn’t make me want to smile!

Acupuncture anyone?

Last week I got to participate in one of my favorite aspects of design, handing over the keys of a new Web Site to it’s new owner.

Check it out:

Acupuncture Solutions

If you are in need of a treatment, Yael is definitely the person you want to go to. She’ll make you feels incredibly well.

If for no other purpose than to give yourself some special time, give her a call. It feels great!

Where Have I been???

Wow. It’s been a long time since I put anything up on here. This is probably a good thing, because it means that I’m busy!

Over the last few months I have been interning with Norco which has been an incredibly valuable experience. Working with people, and with Cycling related tasks all day everyday has really been a treat. It really does not get much better than that!

All good things come to an end though, and this is my final week of the internship. Another door does open up as I now have the time to finish up AcupunctureSolutions.ca. This site will feature some photography and a full wordpress build. It’s pretty exciting to watch this site develop over the last few weeks. It’s going to be great to push that button, and say GO!

Check back in the next couple weeks for some fresh posts, including some great links I’ve stumbled across.

If you are in need of some visual entertainment, check out my flickr account. It can be found here: Flickr!

Winter is almost here…

I went out for a ride with Jeremy on Tuesday and was welcomed to the parking lot with some pretty miserable weather. It was that wonderful snow/rain combination, and it was coming down hard. We figured we were there, so we should make the best of it!

This is one shot from the ride:

Our ride was cut a little bit short when Jer took a header of a different rockface. Thankfully there was a shelf to break his fall, as the rockface was followed by a sizeable drop. A sprained ankle and 2 inch gash were his reward for trying something that may have been better suited to a drier, warmer day….

Business Cards have arrived!

My new business cards have arrived! Thanks fedex!

www.emd17.com

Langara’s Electronic Media Design(EMD) program hosts an event at the end of the yearly cycle of classes. For EMD group 17, that year is finally coming to a close on December 10, 2008.

EMD17 required a site that would be easilly navigated, clearly identifiable and efficient at communicating when and where the event would be. The site also needed to be cross-browser friendly, including being easilly read on mobile devices.

Cheryl Law( PICA SQ2), Jack Matier(Katalyst) and myself joined forces to create www.emd17.com. This site was designed with the above requirements on an incredibly short time frame.

It was amazing how well the three of us worked together. We were able to effectively work as a unit, taking Cheryls design and constructing it into the fully functioning site you see. If you are interested in checking out some more of the work from the class of EMD17, come out to our event. It should be a great time!

Pica Sq2 portfolio content

Cheryl Law from Pica Sq2 came to me looking for some images of her work for her website.

Working with quality product has to be one of the best things out there. It was a breeze to set this up and shoot it. Nothing extravagant necessary, just simple and straightforward. It helped that my parents recently purchased a beautiful new table that makes for a very nice background. I may have invaded their dining room late in the night….

I’ll be posting some samples once she picks her favorites, but till then you can check out the joys of a simple setup!
